In 2005, the Oakland Pet Fund working with the Oakland Pet Adoption Center formed a collaboration to qualify for Maddies funding. Maddies Foundation provides large grant support - $1 million or more to fund programs to assist communities achieve no kill. The following organizations signed the collaboration agreement. Unfortunately the collaboration was unsuccessful in obtaining Michigan Humane Society's involvement. Maddies provided $40,000 to collect data and indicated that if MHS joined collaboration during the three year data collection period, large financial support would follow. Unfortunately MHS never joined the collaboration and significant funding therefore never materialized.
