Michigan Pet Fund Alliance’s 2017 Getting to the Goal event is a free two-day shelter behavior seminar (Oct 5-6, 2017) presented by Animal Alliances director Kelley Bollen and sponsored by Alley Cat Allies.

The event will be held on October 5 and 6 at Bloomfield Township Public Library. It is designed for shelter staff,
animal control officers, shelter and rescue volunteers and administrators to learn more about addressing the
behavioral health of the animals in their care.
 

Day 1 topics (Thurs, Oct 5) are:

  • Intake and Adoptions – A Behavior Perspective
  • Reading Dog and Cat Body Language & Safe Animal Handling
  • Stress Recognition and Reduction
  • Behavioral and Environmental Enrichment

Day 2 topics (Fri, Oct 6) are:

  • Understanding Aggression in the Domestic Dog
  • Canine Behavior Evaluations
  • Feline Behavior Evaluations
  • How Animals Learn
  • Training & Behavior Modification in the Shelter
Participants will receive a Certificate of Completion
IAABC – 16 CEUs
CCPDT – 11 CEUs for Trainers and 3 CEUs for Behavior Consultants
