Every year 118, 000 companion animals are euthanized in Michigan Shelters.

It is hard to believe but in the 21st century some animal shelters in Michigan operate the same way they did in the 1950's.  In Michigan, shelters are governed by the1919 Dog Law. A lot has changed since 1919, but unfortunately the Animal Control world is generally not governed by 21st century thinking, practices and laws. It is time that we as Michigananders become more humane. It is time that we stop killing animals because of over-population. It is time that we start using best practices and demand solutions by government that WORK!  Your tax money can either go to killing companion animals or fixing the problem. We need to fix the problem NOW!
